St Patrick's Primary School, Cullyhanna

End of year prizegiving

30th Jun 2019

After another special year in St. Patrick's, our annual prize giving recognised those pupils who gave extra special effort throughout the year in all aspects of school life. In our sports awards, pupils received medals and trophies for excelling on sports day and in games. A special presentation was also made to our boys' football team who reached heights this year that may never be reached again. We presented the boys with their school jersey to keep as a token of thanks from the school

In our special achievements assembly, excellence in academic, social, language and musical achievement were all celebrated. Mrs Maurita Murray, our former teacher was our special guest of honour. Mrs Murray is also the wife of Peter John Murray. Peter John sadly passed away last year and he was a great friend to our school as he served as a Governor for over thirty years. A tireless worker for his local community, our school commissioned an award in his honour to recognize a P7 child who serves their community with distinction. Congratulations to Eilis McCreesh who was the inaugural winner of Peter John's award.

Well done to all our winners and many thanks to Mr Nugent for presenting our sports awards and also to Mrs Murray for being our special guest.
