St Patrick's Primary School, Cullyhanna

January in Primary 6

31st Jan 2024
Primary 6 have continued to work well and learn lots of new things.  In Literacy we read a range of poetry and wrote Metaphor poems about weather, colours or emotions.  We typed our poems, added images and borders to create poetry displays.  We also drew amusing pictures to illustrate metaphors.

At the beginning of 2024 we 'turned over a new leaf' by making resolutions that we will try to keep this term.  Some are going to try to improve school work, complete chores or continue to be kind, caring and thoughtful to those we meet.

Congratulations to the players and management of St. Patrick's GFC on winning the All-Ireland Intermediate Final.  We enjoyed colouring pictures of the players and decorating the hall, corridor and classroom.  This was a very special occasion for the school, club and community.

Well done to Cillian, Mollie and Francis who represented Primary 6 in the local Credit Union Quiz.  They came second in a very tight competition.

Well done to all the Pupils of the week, those who received Mathletics or Accelerated Reader certificates throughout the month.  We are very proud of Francis who joined the Word Millionaire club.  An excellent achievement!
