March in Primary 6

27th Mar 2024
March was a great month in Primary 6.

At the beginning of the month we celebrated World Book Day.  We had lots of fun dressing up as our favourite characters.  Even the teachers dressed up as characters from their favourite books!

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day we learned lots of interesting facts about our patron saint.  We attended our annual Irish Mass where we sang and said the responses in Irish.  At the 'Green Day Assembly' we played two Irish tunes on the tin whistle.

In Accelerated Reader we were very proud of Mollie Duffy who joined the Word Millionaire Club- a fantastic achievement!

In World Around Us we started our topic 'Rainforests' - we are enjoying researching all the different animals and plants that live there.  In our 'Climate Change' topic we have been learning about the effect that it has on our planet.  We have been focusing on the impact it has on sea life and the animals that are at risk.  We enjoyed creating these pieces of art that highlight endangered animals while showing our creative and artistic skills.

Friends of Cullyhanna School held their annual Easter raffle and some of our family members were successful at winning prizes.  Well done to Connie McCreesh who was the top seller in our class.  We had a visit from the Easter Bunny who gave each of us an egg. We made and decorated Easter chicks/baskets.  In Religion we discussed the main events of Holy Week and coloured The Stations of the Cross.

Happy Easter everyone.
