February in Primary 6
Primary 6 have continued to work well during February. We are very lucky to have Mr. Deery as a student teacher in our P6 class. He will be teaching us alongside Mrs. McMahon and Ms Quinn during the month of March.
In Religion we learned lots of interesting facts and even some legends associated with St.Brigid. Niamh visited Faughart and brought us back some holy water from St. Brigid’s well. Some pupils made St. Brigid’s crosses at home with family members after Mrs. Loye taught us how to make them.
On the 22nd February it was Ash Wednesday which marked the beginning of Lent. We learned about the rituals and symbols of Lent and made our Lenten promises which we will try to keep until Easter! Canon Toner visited our class to give us ashes.
In World Around Us we started our new topic ‘Rainforests.’ We have been studying the location, climate, layers and all the different animals and plants that live there. We are really looking forward to learning more over the coming weeks.
Best wishes to Senan, Connla, Erin and LilyMae who will represent our school in the Credit Union Chapter Finals on Saturday.
