February in Primary 6
Primary 6 have continued to work well during this month. In Religion we learned lots of interesting facts and even some legends associated with St. Brigid. We attended mass on the 1st of February and some of us led the readings, prayers of the faithful and communion reflection. Well done to all those involved. On Wednesday 14th February it was Ash Wednesday which marked the beginning of Lent. We learned about the rituals and symbols of Lent and made our own Lenten promises which we will try to keep to Easter.
In World Around Us we have been studying 'Climate Change'. We researched the weather conditions over decades and some of the causes and effects of climate change. We added our 'factfiles' to our class display. We also made a 'Pledgehog' with pledges of ways we can work together to help protect the local environment and the world around us which is part of God's creation. We must keep the world clean and healthy.
In numeracy we have have been looking at fractions, decimals and capacity. We enjoyed measuring different liquids in different containers and converting these to millilitres and litres.
We are very lucky to have Mr. McKeown working in our P6 class. He has been assisting us in all lessons and we look forward to having him throughout March.
