January in Primary 4
31st Jan 2025
A new year and a new school term, with lots and lots of exciting things happening awaited Primary 4 in January.
In numeracy we continued to explore 3 digit numbers, as well as our work on our times tables and fractions. In Literacy we have been looking at 'non-chronological reports' and found out some very interesting facts about the red squirrel, the blue whale and the emperor penguin. We have also learned how to select key words and make notes. In religion we have began our preparations for our 'First Confession' and have had lots of discussions about good and bad choices.
We also really enjoyed our visit from Orlagh (Young Enterprise) for financial capabilities week (check out the pictures in the news feed on the home page). We learned lots about our community and paying taxes.
The highlight this month has been our topic 'World War II'. We have been really enjoying learning lots of interesting things about the war and our trip to the palace stables was FANTASTIC!
