January in Primary 6
Primary 6 have continued to work hard and learn lots of new things in January. In Literacy we read a range of different poetry- Acrostic, Metaphor and Haikus. We wrote Metaphor poems about ‘Emotions’ and drew amusing pictures to illustrate different metaphors. We enjoyed following the syllable layout of 5,7,5 to compose a nature Haiku. We typed our poems, added pictures and borders to create class displays.
In Numeracy we started our ‘Weight’ topic. We enjoyed predicting the weight of different objects and then weighing them to see if our predictions were correct. We continued to revise our times tables to help with our long multiplication and division problems.
In Art we created symmetrical pictures of different animals. Our teachers think they are fantastic!
We celebrated Catholic Schools’ Week ~ the theme was Walking Together in Faith and love. We enjoyed listening to stories, discussing different issues and completing activities. We celebrated our grandparents and the contribution they make to our lives and gave thanks to God for them.
Well done to Senan, Connla, Lily-Mae and Erin who competed in the Credit Union Quiz and were the worthy winners of the Primary 6 Cup.
