March in Primary 4
Wow!!! March was a particulary busy month with lots happening in Primary 4.
We've been exploring traditional tales, prefixes and opposites in literacy. Whilst in numeracy we have continued to work on our tables and division facts, as well as multiplying numbers by 10 or 100 and investigating lines of symmetry.
There were lots of FANTASTIC characters in Primary 4 for 'World Book Day' from Greg Heffley to Mo Salah, Little Red Riding Hood to Bob the Builder and we even had Miss Trunchball teaching us for the day.
During 'Seachtain na Gaeilge' be had a visit from the Armagh Rhymers. We enjoyed their stories, songs and dances. We also had a fantastic 'Breath, Move, Stretch' class with Edel McMahon, as part of SPOT. It was challenging, but lots of fun.
This half term saw Mr Oran Murray join our class for his final year of placement. We REALLY enjoyed his time in our class, especially when he took two of his pet lambs. He told us why they had to be bottle fed & lots of interesting things about new life in spring. We even got Mr Quinn to hold one of the lambs.
We've been busy with afterschool activities including Taekwondo with Aoife & Gardening Club with Mr McElroy, both have been lots of fun. Nora has also helped us add some spring flowers to the planters outside our classroom.
On of the most important things we did this month was making our 'First Confession'. We spent lots of time preparing for it and had a lovely evening in the chapel with our families. We are now preparing for our 'First Holy Communion' which takes place on Sat 14th May and we are really looking forward to it.
