November in P.2.

2nd Dec 2024

This month in P.2. has been very productive. It has also been full of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming Christmas season.

Earlier this month, we highlighted Anti-bullying day by wearing odd socks to celebrate our differences and the things that make us unique.

For our new topic ‘Traditional Tales’, we were thrilled to host Una Walshe who shared with us the folktale of Fionn mac Cumhaill. The children were full of enthusiasm and curiosity during the storytelling session. It is wonderful to see children interested in their local culture.

In Literacy, we explored writing lists. We wrote a list to Santa Claus which combined creativity with practical writing skills. They turned out magical!

In Numeracy, we continued to enhance our number skills. Students continued to consolidate how to write and recognise numbers up to 20 in words, order numbers, and count by 2s to 20. This week, we introduced ordinal numbers. We discussed how we use them every day for the date and even more so in December, when we are all counting down the days to December 25th
