November in P5 Mrs Murray
During the month of November, we celebrated the Feast of All Souls, so our class made a list of family and friends that are with God in Heaven. While saying prayers we remembered all those special people. We decorated cards and displayed them on our classroom window in memory of our loved ones.
In Literacy and Art, we worked on activities related to Anti Bullying. We created rhyming poems and friendship recipes. Then we designed posters for the Anti Bullying Poster Competition. Two girls from our class won.
In Numeracy, we focused on mental maths strategies to help us add and take away correctly. We also consolidated x2, 5, 10 times tables.
In World Around Us we are learning about Farming. Majella from The Rural Health Partnership helped and organised a trip to a local farm to view vintage machinery – we got to see how the farmers used to thresh the hay and straw in days ‘gone by’. We met local farmers which included grandparents, uncles and great uncles to the children in our class. We had a great day out.
Well done to our Pupils of the Week for the month of November.
