Another action-packed month comes to a close. We completed a unit of work on narrative poetry and inspired by The Highwayman poem by Alfred Noyes, we wrote our own narrative poems based on the video, The Alchemist’s Letter’. One exciting topic we completed work on in numeracy was that of time zones. We looked at how Earth is split into 24 time zones and completed a range of tasks involving working out travel times between these zones and calculating what the time difference would be between different cities. We also investigated how shops regularly advertise ’Special Offers’ and how they may not always be the deal that they appear to be. We worked to see what the best deal would be for a selection of toilet rolls, then used Adobe to create our own posters advertising a range of products, each with their own special offer. As part of our RE studies, we created our own visions of heaven, which we proudly displayed beside our November dedications display. We enjoyed a visit from Kevin McKernan of Abbey CBS, who put us through our paces with a series of football challenges.
