P.2/P.3 March News

2nd Apr 2025

We had lots of fun this month in Primary 2/3.

This month in literacy we followed and wrote our own instructions about how to make fairy pancakes.  We were great at following the instructions and even better at eating all the delicious fairy pancakes. We read the story Goldilocks and the three bears and created a wanted poster to help the police find Goldilocks.  We used lots of adjectives to describe what Goldilocks looked like. We then used our imaginations to write a new ending to the story.  We also became authors and created our own stories based on Goldilocks and the three bears. Some of our ideas were Goldilocks and the three bees, Goldilocks and the three ninjas and Goldilocks and the three cheetahs.

In numeracy we learnt how to count in 10s.  We learnt about 2D shapes and made different shapes using lollipop sticks. We looked at 3D shapes and learnt about their properties.  We know that a cube and a cuboid have the same number of faces, edges and vertices.

In our world around us lessons we learnt the names of different types of houses and we discussed how to stay safe in each room of our house.  We went on an adventure around the world to learn about different houses. We know that some people in Tunisia have their homes underground and that some people in Switzerland live in chalets.

We had lots of fun learning how to draw the three bears, making our St Patrick’s Day hats and creating our lovely flowers and butterfly cards for Mother’s day.
