P4 - Star Pupils - 24/04/20
The first week back after any school holidays is always difficult to get back into routine, but no challenge is ever too big for this Primary 4 class!
What a busy week it has been for most of you with some fantastic work being done on Accelerated Reader and Mathletics. A total of 28 quizzes were completed by Primary 4 this week, an amazing amount in your first week of Term 3. It’s wonderful to see you all keeping up your reading, as we ll know how important it is.
In Mathletics we already have a total of 33,000 points for this week, with some superb individual totals. Joseph, Jack, Grace L and Molly have all achieved their bronze. Emma, Grace F, Ella Mac, Kayden and Tommy all achieved over 2000 points, whilst Shea and Alex have 3000+ and Senan has well over 4000. However, one individual has made a HUGE contribution to our class total for Mathletics this week with over 7000 points – well done Denver. Mr Quinn will have a great long list of names from Primary 4 for next week’s Mathletics awards, especially since we still have until Sunday to add to our totals, so keep up the fantastic work.
It has been the first week of school work from our website and no doubt you have all be adjusting to this new way of getting your work. I spoke to lots of parents throughout the week and have heard about how hard you are all working, some even sent me some photographs to show the brilliant things that are happening at home.
Holly C had a very special week as she celebrated her 8th birthday. It was a very different kind of birthday as she couldn’t celebrate it with her friends, but she had a beautiful cake & I know that EVERYONE in Primary 4 will be singing ‘Happy Birthday’ from afar. Her birthday didn’t stop her getting her school work done or helping dad on the farm, going for a cycle or a walk with mum. It’s great to see you working hard and being active Holly – keep it up.
Ella Mur was a busy little bee this week also and she decided that her school work could be done whilst dressing up as Princess Evie from ‘The Descendants’. She was doing lots of research on the internet to find out fun facts about birds and even had the time to help her mum make a cheesecake – I hope you saved me a slice! ;)
This week’s ‘Mathlete’ with whooping 7000+ points didn’t just spend his whole week on Mathletics. After a lovely Easter break, where he made the most of the good weather, Denver paid a visit to his Great Granny who celebrated her 97th Birthday. It’s lovely to see you giving Granny a little gift, whist keeping both you and her safe by social distancing.
We had one VERY conscientious little boy who had at least a page of work done every day before anyone at home at to ask - well done Kayden, it's great to see such a positive attitude to school work and by the looks of it you had a very busy week.
I was also blown away by Caela's work this week. She completed all of the tasks that I had set, including extensions and is reading LOADS to reach her Accelerated Reader target. She even had time to get outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine with her little brothers, a great example of getting the balance right - keep up the excellent work Caela.
Thank you to everyone who sent in photographs this week. I look forward to LOADS more over the next few weeks.
Have a wonderful weekend & stay safe.
Miss Fanthorpe :)
