P5 February News
This month we celebrated the Feast Day of St.Bridget. We learned about her life and good deeds that she done for others. It’s wonderful to have an Irish Female Saint to represent our country.
We visited the Navan Centre in Armagh to learn about the life and times of the Ancient Egyptians. It was an interesting trip and a member of our class got dressed up as a mummy! We learned the geography of Egypt, the different seasons, Egyptian Gods and we made Pharaoh crowns.
Una Walsh from the Rural Health Partnership visited our classroom and done a workshop on local monuments in our area. These landmarks existed before the time of the Ancient Egyptians!
In Literacy we learned about the different genres in imaginary worlds. We wrote descriptions of giants. We used amazing adjectives and super similes to describe giants, to help the reader imagine what our giant looked like.
In Numeracy, we focused on practical activities of telling the time in analogue and digital time. We are also learning the 8 & 9 times tables, along with division facts. Our Head to Head competitions has become fierce.
Well done to all our Pupils of the Week.
