In numeracy we have been learning to multiply by 10, 100 and by 1000.  You add one zero when multiplying by 10, two zeros when multiplying by 100 and three zeros when multiplying by 1000.  We have also been learning to multiply by 2 , 3 , 4 and 5. We learnt how to multiply a three digit number by a one digit number. If you want to practise the times tables visit hit the button.  This is the website

CHRISTMAS SHOW

For the Christmas show we were learning a Merry Christmas rap to the song we will rock you.

We created a play about Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and we sang the Rudolph the red nosed reindeer song. My favourite part of the Christmas show was the Rudolph play.

Literacy

We have been learning about different things in Literacy. We have been learning about verbs, adjectives and nouns.  We learned about the features of a newspaper report and we learnt all about how to write a set of instructions.  It is important to listen to instructions because if you don’t listen to them then you might do something wrong. Instructions have heading, you will need box, numbers, pictures and bossy imperative verbs.  We also made a Christmas show and it was fun. We watched it in class and it was very funny. Miss Donnelly thought it was funny too.

World Around Us

In WAU (World Around Us) we learned about Thor. He was the Viking’s favourite God because he loved eating, fighting and drinking. Thor rode across the sky in a chariot pulled by goats. Thor had a hammer called Mjolnir and Vikings wore a silver hammer around their neck for good luck.

We also learned about the materials. We know that wood comes from trees and it is a natural material. It is strong, it floats and it is an insulator. Hard wood comes from deciduous trees. This means that they lose their leaves. Examples of deciduous trees are ash, oak and mahogany. Soft wood comes from evergreen trees. This means they don’t lose their leaves.
