St Patrick's Primary School, Cullyhanna

September in Primary 4

It has been a busy start to the school year, with lots happening in Primary 4.

We welcomed a new pupil to our class and we have been getting used to the longer day.

In numeracy this month we have been busy revising numbers to 100 and playing lots of mental maths games.  We have been learning about 2D shapes and did an investigation of their properties, as well as a shape hunt around the school.

In literacy, we have been learning about story settings and nouns, as well as writing a description of our house.  It is our first year doing Accelerated Reader and we are really enjoying the challenge of quizzing.  Our class were the first class to win the Accelerated Reader trophy and we hope to keep this up next month to earn a trip to the park.

Some of our class have been enjoying the 'Motor Sensory' activities each morning with Vera.

We have created our 'Circle of Friends' and enjoyed having 'Golden Time' on a Friday.

We are looking forward to lots more exciting things to come in Primary 4.
