September in Primary 4
We've had a fantastic first month back at school. Have a look and read about some of the things we have been doing.
Literacy
We've had a busy month learning lots of new things in Literacy. We have been busy revising how to use capital letters and end stops. We have learned lots about nouns and did a 'noun hunt' using our reading books. Our first month using Acclerated Reader has been a HUGE success. We have read 100s of books and won the Accelerated Reader trophy every week, so far.
Numeracy
In numeracy we have been revising our numbers to 100 and playing lots of mental maths games. We have also explored the days and months, with rhymes to help us remember.
Other Curricular Areas
We have been exploring our topic of 'Old School Days' by interviewing someone at home and in RE we have heard how Jesus chose his followers and created our 'Circle of Friends'. We really enjoy our weekly PE lessons are are doing the 'Daily Mile' with 15 minutes of walking/running. For our daily mile we choose a different pacer each day and are building up our laps each week, we are now at 5. We have created some fantastic pieces of work in Art, including autumn scarecrows.
Congratulations to all those boys and girls who were awarded 'Pupil of the Week', achieved Mathletics certificates or reached thier Accelerated Reader targets - keep up the great work! :)
