Literacy By Eibhlin McCreesh
In Literacy we have been learning about collective nouns. We also learnt about speech and using idioms. My favourite idiom is 'strike when the iron is hot' which means act without delay. My favourite thing we looked at in Literacy was The Hindenburg story. It was the last great airship to be made and it exploded and crashed into the Lakehurst airfield. We pretended to be a person on the Hindenburg and wrote a recount of what happened.
Numeracy By Jack Connell
In numeracy we have been learning to order numbers from smallest to largest. We have also been learning about a compass. There are eight directions. We also were learning about angles. There are six angles. They are an acute angle, a right angle, an obtuse angle, a straight line angle, a reflex angle and a 360-degree angle. We made pizza angles!

The Vikings
In topic we have been learning about Vikings. We learnt that they have long houses and that the animals live inside. They use a loom for making clothes and they have a clothes chest to keep the clothes in. They eat out of wooden bowls. When the boys were ten they were considered an adult and when the girls were thirteen to fifteen they had to get married. The girls had to stay home to help their mum while the boys helped their dad fight for land. The houses were made out of wood and it was quite small and smelly. My favourite thing about the Vikings is that they let the animals sleep inside.
The Human Body
In topic we are learning about what is inside the body. We learnt that the heart is a strong muscle and that the heart is a pump that pumps blood around the body. You breathe through your nose and mouth which passes into your windpipe down into your lungs. We learnt that the oxygen is taken into the blood which is a pumped around the body. At the same time a waste gas is passed from the blood into the lungs. The air you breathe out is called carbon dioxide. This is the waste gas your body produces. My favourite thing about the body is the heart because it keeps you alive.
